Silent Hill 2 Remake's Latest Patch Introduces Game-breaking Glitch, Leaving Players Trapped in Labyrinth
- 0
The much-anticipated update for the Silent Hill 2 remake, known as Patch 1.04, was released recently, bringing with it a notable problem that hampers player progression. Reports have surfaced from players experiencing significant frustration as the Labyrinth section of the game has become overly complex, effectively trapping them within its confines due to a glitch. This part of the game is designed as an intricate puzzle where players interact with a cube to change the walls and create new routes. However, after the release of Patch 1.04, certain paths that previously opened have now become inaccessible.
The issue has been identified by users playing on both the PC and PlayStation 5, though Bloober Team, the game's developer, has not yet issued a statement regarding the bug. For those playing on PS5 with a disc version of the game, there is a cumbersome workaround: uninstalling the game, taking the console offline, and then reinstalling it without the latest update. Despite this, many fans are eagerly hoping for a prompt fix from Bloober Team.
While the patch aimed to enhance gameplay and improve technical performance, it appears that the most critical issue – the progress halting glitch – remains unresolved. Additionally, there were some amusing bugs addressed, including instances where the main character, James, teleported through small openings and got caught in a window near Neely's Bar. Released on October 8, the Silent Hill 2 remake received an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and consumers alike, rekindling interest in the previously dormant horror series.
Bloober Team has expressed their willingness to develop more titles within the Silent Hill universe, although their current focus lies on working with their upcoming sci-fi horror game titled Cronos: The New Dawn. In a recent review, the Silent Hill 2 remake garnered an impressive rating of 8/10, with comments highlighting its ability to immerse players in one of the most unsettling locations in the survival horror genre.
