- 162
It appears that layoffs have become an alarmingly regular occurrence in the gaming industry, with another developer facing cutbacks. This time, Saber Interactive, under the Embracer Group umbrella, is undergoing a restructuring process, which has unfortunately led to the termination of some staff members.
According to information from Eurogamer, Embracer has released a statement confirming these unfortunate events. The statement detailed that the restructuring efforts are particularly affecting New World Interactive, a subsidiary of Saber Interactive. As a direct result of this organizational overhaul, several employees at the studio have been laid off.
While specific numbers regarding the affected employees have not been disclosed at this moment, Embracer has indicated their intention to consider displaced Saber workers for current vacancies within the company.
Despite these setbacks, it's important to note that production on existing and future titles seems to be pushing forward. The development of 'Insurgency: Sandstorm' will proceed as planned, along with work on projects that have yet to be announced publicly.
