Paris Showdown: The Final Countdown to Postseason Glory

The concluding stretch of the regular season is coming soon, and teams are preparing for a pivotal showdown in Paris. With the bracket officially set for the Major IV event, all twelve participating teams head to France, where their performances will determine both playoff seeding and their chances to secure postseason eligibility.

From the latest standings, three teams have seen their postseason dreams fade away. Given that the maximum available points in Major IV is limited to a single team finishing at 100 points if a team goes the distance and wins, the gap proves insurmountable for Boston Breach with 100 points, Vancouver Surge with 95 points, and Cloud9 New York with a modest 30 points.

In contrast, five teams have already secured postseason qualification due to a significant points gap above the cutoff. A list of these teams includes:

  • OpTic Texas with 475 points
  • Los Angeles Thieves with 425 points
  • FaZe Vegas with 395 points
  • Paris Gentle Mates with 320 points
  • Toronto KOI with 260 points

Furthermore, only FaZe Vegas and the Los Angeles Thieves stand in direct competition with OpTic Texas for the title of top regular season team of 2026, though the 50-point lead in favor of OpTic suggests that the team is likely to secure that honor.

For the remaining four teams, the situation remains uncertain as each has the potential either to make the playoffs or to fall short. Among these, Carolina Royal Ravens, holding 150 points, are positioned in a vulnerable spot. However, with Riyadh Falcons at 240 points, Miami Heretics at 220 points, and G2 Minnesota also at 220 points, shifts in placement are possible, especially when considering the upcoming seeding dynamics at Major IV.

Expect definitive answers by the end of the week when the Major IV event concludes and the regular season officially wraps up, clarifying which teams will join the postseason roster and which will miss Championship Weekend.
